Bob Cresswell with Cresswell Builders is the Dallas BA Retention Rockstar for September 2020!
Bob has been a member of the Dallas BA going on 48 years. He has been building in the Dallas area since 1970, and he was the Dallas Builders Association President in 1998.
Bob has always been an active member. He was awarded the Hugh Prather Award, which is given annually to the builder, remodeler or developer member who has done the most for the betterment of the Greater Dallas Region, in 2001. His expertise and knowledge regarding the housing industry has helped many a current member and new member understand the value of membership. Bob emphasizes that “the people in the Association have kept me involved and going. The camaraderie that you get by knowing and learning from other builders and associates through the years has been gratifying and helpful.”
Bob has 1,297 Spike credits for his efforts recruiting members and retaining members as a vital contributor of the Membership and Retention Committee. He has been involved in the Membership and Retention Committee for over 40 years. When it comes to showing members how to maximize their membership, Bob stresses that “learning from your fellow builders and associates is really important to understanding why you should be involved with the Association.” His advice centers on being willing to listen to others with experience to get the guidance and help needed as people progress their businesses and their careers.
The COVID19 pandemic has made 2020 a challenging year in different ways. When it comes to membership in the Dallas BA during these times Bob thinks that “It’s all about attitude. There are always good times and bad times. There are times when you want to quit, but you wake up the next day ready to go again. There’s no point in being around negative people. There’s too much negativity in the world right now, so I prefer to look at the positive. The business is there. We’ll get through this.”
Bob is a fantastic example of a builder who has done everything he can to enhance the housing industry in Dallas. He is a Dallas BA Life Director, a Texas Association of Builders Life Director and a National Association of Home Builders Senior Life Director. “Being active and giving back to the industry that supports you is vital,” he stresses. Well said, Bob.
