Celina Approves Adoption of 2020 NEC
The Celina City Council on May 11 approved adoption of the 2020 National Electric Code (NEC).
The updated ordinance becomes effective on July 1, 2021. Celina is advising that builders ensure that their electrical contractors and architects are aware of the new code. Builders should review the 2020 NEC for major changes.
The ordinance included recommended amendments suggested by the North Central Texas Council of Government’s Regional Codes Coordinating Committee (RCCC) that helps tailor codes to better fit the needs of the DFW area. Dallas BA participates in the process as a member of the RCCC.
