Dallas BA Hosts Annual “Peer Group” Meeting of Association Executive Officers

Every year Executive Officers from the largest local home builders associations in the country gather to discuss the mutual challenges and opportunities they are facing in their local markets. This year’s get together was held in Dallas and was attended by EOs from Raleigh, Louisville, Colorado Springs, Jacksonville, Northern Kentucky, Seattle, Houston, Atlanta, Tulsa, Birmingham, and Kansas City. Executive Officers from Portland and Minneapolis participated remotely.

“It is an incredible honor to bring my peers together here in Dallas, learn from them and also showcase the amazing things we’re doing at the association and, of course, our newly remodeled building,” said Dallas BA Executive Officer, Phil Crone. “I’m very grateful to have this prestigious opportunity and to the volunteers and partners who helped make it possible.

StrucSure Home Warranty, Atmos Energy, Innovative Publishing and Lowe’s partnered the group’s activities. Those included a visit with Craig Johnson at the Collin College Technical Campus, a reception with the Association Executive Committee, and a tour of Lilyana Prosper by Dallas BA President John Porizek with M/I Homes and Immediate Past President Andrew Pieper with Hillwood Communities.

“They also got to hear from a couple of our area’s best and brightest,” added Crone. “Chris Hartley with K Hovnanian Homes spoke about how associations work with production builders and how to be better salespeople for our respective organizations. Joshua Correa with Divino Homes sat down and helped us discuss how we can help ensure our volunteer leadership opportunities are inclusive and appeal to a diverse audience that is a true representation of our membership.”

The group’s meeting is a short, but intense few days. Invited EOs arrived on Wednesday January 11 and departed Saturday January 14.
