Dallas BA Weighing In with State Legislature

The 86th Legislature is picking up pace, and with it, bringing a litany of issues that can impact home building. And the Dallas Builders Association is making its voice heard.

On March 14, Dallas BA member Kevin Webb and Director of Government Affairs David Lehde joined TAB’s Ned Munoz to offer testimony in support of HB 852. The legislation, introduced by Representative Justin Holland, is needed to ensure that municipal building permit fees are calculated in a manner consistent with the Texas Constitution.  Senator Pat Fallon has offered the companion bill, SB 855.

On March 20, Association members will travel by bus, car and plane to Austin for Dallas BA’s Rally Day 2019, presented by Jackson Walker.  Members will participate in meetings with more than 30 state legislators to discuss issues important to home building and small business. This is in coordination with Texas Association of Builders’ Rally Day, where 28 HBAs from around the state will visit the Capitol.

Dallas BA will give updates on these and other items as they become available.
