Estimating and Scheduling – Two Certification Courses (in-person or virtual option available)

The education committee will be offering 2 half-day certification classes. Graduates will receive a certificate for both Estimating and Scheduling through the National Association of Home Builders.

If you plan to attend in-person you will need to bring your laptop and charger.

The ability to effectively prepare for a project is vital to the success of any business. Project preparation consists of multiple processes that work together and, when performed effectively, enable you to increase your efficiency, achieve greater client satisfaction, enhance team and vendor relationships and protect profitability. This course provides you with the knowledge and skills to perform two of the critical processes in project preparation: estimating costs and creating the schedule to complete the project.

As a graduate of this course, you will be able to:

Illustrate how estimating and scheduling work together to effectively set up the project.
Identify the fundamentals of estimating to identify the costs (not the selling price).
Use spreadsheets and packaged estimating systems.
Identify the fundamentals of scheduling.
Illustrate the schedule as a key communication tool.

He has been remodeling homes for over 35 years and building new homes for over 20 years. His company, Beaver Builders, has performed remodeling projects from basic bath remodels to whole house renovations and built homes from the low $90’s to $1 million-plus. His commercial projects range from pharmaceutical clean rooms to hospital renovations. Donny’s formal education includes an Associate in Science degree from Frank Phillips Jr. College, BBA in Strategical Management from the University of North Texas, and 2 years of Marketing courses from Texas Tech University.
