Before her retirement in 2020, Geanie worked at Lee Lighting as marketing/sales manager. She had been with the company since 1996.

Throughout her career, Geanie’s passion and dedication to her industry and clients made her an incredible ambassador of the Dallas BA and Lee Lighting.

A staunch supporter of membership recruitment and retention, Geanie was one of the Association’s most prolific Spikes, with almost 540 new members brought in. She had served as the Spike Club chair from 2007 until her retirement.

In 2007 Geanie was recognized as the Dallas BA’s top membership recruiter of the year and presented with the Shorty Howard Trophy.

She was a Life Director of the Association’s Dallas Division Board of Directors and was honored by the Dallas BA with Life Director status in 2008.

Under her support and involvement, Lee Lighting served as host/partner for many Dallas BA events and programs, including numerous After Hours and Spike Night Celebrations, the Builder Surplus Sale, Milestone Award program and annual membership trip for recruiters. Lee Lighting was named Associate of the Year in 2001 and again in 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Vann Vaughan II and Chandler Gauntt; six granddaughters; and a large family of close friends and loved ones. Geanie is preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Leatherwood; her father, Alvin Ledford; and her brother, Ronnie Ledford.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the American Liver Foundation at LiverFoundation.org.
