Nominations Open for Associate Vice President Position
The Dallas BA is accepting nominations for the Associate Vice President (AVP) position. The AVP is responsible for representing the needs and interests of Associate Members of the Association.
Specifically, this position serves as a liaison from the Executive Committee to the Dallas, Metro East and Metro North Divisions as well as the Multifamily Builders Council. The candidate needs to work proactively with the Presidents and Chairperson of those groups, fellow associates, as well as the Executive Officer and Dallas BA staff.
In order to be eligible for the office, candidates for Associate Vice President shall have served or be currently serving as President of a Division, elected or appointed member of the Board of Director for three (3) of the preceding five (5) years, chairman of the Education, Communications or Membership Committee, or be a Life Director of the Board of Directors with active voting privileges.
The AVP is elected by popular vote of Dallas BA Associate members and serves a one-year term* that may be renewed, if re-elected, the following year. Nominees must also successfully complete a criminal background check and be deemed by the Association’s Nominating Committee to have fully met the qualification requirements in order to serve.
Nominations must be submitted to Sheena Beaver via email by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11.
*The bylaws currently specify a two-year term for this position. However, the Board of Directors approved the modification of this to a one-year term on August 25. This bylaw change is currently pending ratification by the Dallas BA’s Builder membership.
