Tim Jackson, GMB, CGB, CGP, Selected as Graduate Master Builder of the Month
Tim Jackson of Tim Jackson Custom Homes has a long-standing history of servitude to the construction industry. The many years he has spent giving back has caused positive ripples felt throughout local, state and national levels.
After graduating from Texas Tech in 1985 with a bachelor of business-finance degree, Tim began his long career in the homebuilding industry. In 2003 he earned designations as a Certified Graduate Builder, a Certified Green Professional and ultimately a Graduate Master Builder.
Tim is a Life Director of the Dallas Builders Association and the Texas Association of Builders. He has chaired many committees and served as the president of the Dallas BA in 2009 and president of TAB in 2016. Tim is a board member of the National Association of Home Builders and currently serves as the NAHB state representative for Texas.
He has received many awards, including the ARC Awards Custom Builder of the Year in 2006 and 2010. In 2014, he was honored with the prestigious Hugh Prather Award from the Dallas BA. This award is given annually to a builder who has done the most for the betterment of his community and the industry as a whole. One of Tim’s career highlights occurred in 2013 when his company built and furnished a mortgage-free home for one of our nation’s wounded veterans through Operation FINALLY HOME. In addition, he is also actively involved with Habitat for Humanity.
Tim joined the Dallas BA in June 1997; since that time he has reached over 270 Spike credits, making him one of the Association’s most prolific membership recruiters. He is a past recipient of the APEX Award, given to a builder member to recognize professionalism in doing business with associate members.
The Graduate Master Builder certification is the ultimate symbol of the building professional; the GMB certification is for experienced veterans. It provides advanced knowledge of the building business, covering topics such as risk management, land acquisition and financial management.
