Samaritan Inn
The Association’s Multifamily Builders Council holds a sell-out golf tournament each May to raise funds for Samaritan Inn, Collin County’s only homeless shelter. The council has donated more than $128,000 for the shelter to date. Originally a nursing home that was converted to a jail, in 2004 Samaritan Inn received a $1.25 million renovation spearheaded by the Multifamily Builders Council. The shelter’s mission is to help willing people gain dignity and independence, moving families from a survival perspective to experiencing health growth, normalcy, and security in their everyday lives.
